As President of the Dallas Stars Alumni Association, Bob Bassen plays a pivotal role in connecting former players with the North Texas community. A longtime ambassador for the game, Bassen oversees many of the Association’s community appearances, charitable initiatives, alumni events, and outreach programs, helping ensure that the legacy of Dallas Stars hockey continues to make a positive impact far beyond the rink. 

In addition to coordinating alumni activities, Bassen works closely with the Dallas Stars Foundation on a variety of initiatives designed to inspire and engage the next generation. He has been particularly active in the Foundation’s Stick With Reading campaign, where he regularly visits schools alongside fellow alumni and community partners to encourage literacy, education, and a lifelong love of learning. Through his dedication to community service, youth engagement, and growing the game of hockey, Bassen continues to embody the values of leadership, teamwork, and giving back that have defined his career both on and off the ice.
